The status of the Hungarians in Vojvodina has to be continuously monitored

In the report as an outcome of the proposals worked out in coordination with the Hungarian Association in Vojvodina, the region is pointed out. A mention was also added to the document relating to the governmental measures curtailing the autonomy and the budget of the province.

"The Serbia-report of the EP is a roadmap to a democratic Serbia, with indispensible conditions to the rights of the minority groups. It is important to specify in the report all the measures disadvantageously affecting the rights of the Serbian minorities, and so the rights of Hungarians in Vojvodina", emphasized György Schöpflin after the vote.

The EP is expected to vote on the final version of the report on the March plenary session.
