Public Hearing on the need to establish a Representation for Future Generations in the European Union

2008. 09. 17.

In her introduction Kinga Gál stated, that the Hungarian Parliament adopted a law on Representation of the Future Generations, so in Hungary there is already a commisioner/ombudsman of the Future Generations. It was an initiative started by the civic organisation Védegylet (Protect the Future) – which has been figthing for the sustainable society and development for the last 7 years.

It’s time now to raise this question to the level of the EU institutes, so this is why on this hearing we had the experts of the issue and also some of those Member of Parliaments who assist much the idea of the Representation.
