“Concerns about the Hungarian situation are unjustified, and it is unacceptable that the European Parliament’s Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) meetings are used for political campaigning in a row,” Kinga Gál said on Thursday in Brussels.
The Fidesz MEP declared that Frans Timmermans, the first vice-president of the European Commission who had just spoken at the LIBE hearing, was mistaken, far removed from his task, because he had not been called for another hearing on Hungary, but to report on the status of the procedure under article seven.
This proves that the process has long lost all its objectivity, and it is nothing more than a political game of pressure of the Left side of the Parliament, she said.
