Hungarian young adults in Brussels 2010. 11. 18. On 16-18th November 2010 two groups consisting of Hungarian young adults from Central-Eastern Europe visited the European Parliament in Brussels.

Thanks to the amendments submitted by MEP Kinga Gál (EPP-Fidesz), the protection of national minorities are emphasised according to their importance in the European Parliament resolution on the Strengthening of the OSCE - A Role of the EU.
Integration of minorities: Lívia Járóka MEP receives Romanian excellence award 2010. 10. 31. Romanian Foreign Minister, Teodor Baconschi, has granted the Ministry's excellence award to Lívia Járóka MEP, acknowledging her activity dedicated to the social integration of minorities. In her acceptance speech, Járóka said that granting the award to her was a message that fostering the social inclusion of the Roma was one of the most staggering strategic challenges and at the same time one of the most promising opportunities for Europe.

A workshop was held in the European Parliament today on the topic of countless television means and the importance of barrier-free information communication. Ádám Kósa MEP, Co-Chairman of the event, highlighted in his speech that technological innovation is a highly important engine of widening possibilities to access to information, especially for people with disabilities.

Quo Vadis Europa? – Kinga Gál at the cross-border citizen forum at Nitra (Slovakia) 2010. 10. 12. The Information Offices of the European Parliament in Budapest and Bratislava organized the Cross-border Citizen Forum at Nitra on 8th October 2010. The aim of the bilateral Slovak-Hungarian forum was to bring together MEPs and experts with citizens for a discussion on the Lisbon Treaty. MEP Kinga Gál was a key speaker at the event where participants discussed the changes brought by the Treaty to the European Union and the new EU institution, the European Citizens Initiative.

"It is with great sadness and sorrow that I learned of the serious ecological catastrophe which occurred in western Hungary, causing the deaths of four people, injuring more than 100 and endangering thousands. The flora and fauna of the region is also in great danger. I would like to send my solidarity to all Hungarian citizens affected by this enormous catastrophe", said Joseph Daul, Chairman of the EPP Group in the European Parliament.
Roma: Time for a real European level response. Lívia Járóka MEP 2010. 09. 30. The Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee of the European Parliament held an extraordinary meeting yesterday (Wednesday) on the situation of Roma people in Europe with the participation of Commissioners Reding, Malmström and Andor. Regarding the Commission's decision to launch infringement procedures against several countries in case of non-compliance with the EU's Directive on free movement, Lívia Járóka MEP welcomed the settlement of the issue and urged the stakeholders to focus on developing a Community response to remedy the terrible poverty from which the Roma are trying to escape when they migrate.
