In order to maintain the borderless EU, its external borders need to be strengthened

"Many Member States of the EU are facing daily the challenges of illegal migration. In Hungary for instance there are 1000 new cases registered each day, most of these being illegal migrants looking for a better living, not eligible for asylum." – said Kinga Gál. The MEP underlined that with the rise of the number of illegal migrants, organised crime is also developing as human traffickers are asking fortunes from the migrants.

Due to the current situation and events outside the EU there are indeed many who would be eligible for asylum under international law, but others try to take advantage of asylum policies in the search of better living standards. "Therefore, we need a more efficient system that is able to separate these two kinds of asylum seekers. We need to improve the Common European Asylum System in order to be able to cope with the flows of migrants and also to show solidarity with those Member States affected the most. We also need to fight human trafficking with all our resources." –  stated the MEP.
