    The Issues Raised in the European Parliament's Minority Intergroup (2009-2011)

    In January 2011 the European Parliament's Minority Intergroup elected new chairmanship in line with the rules of the Parliament. The former EPP Co-Chair of the Intergroup, Ms Kinga Gál MEP in close collaboration with the Secretariat of the Intergroup issued a book on the issues raised during the meetings of the Intergroup during her two and a half year long chairmanship.

    The Minority Intergroup met the Hungarian delegation from Sub-Carpathia

    On the invitation of Kinga Gál MEP (Fidesz, EPP) the leaders of the Cultural Association of Hungarians in Sub-Carpathia (KMKSZ) participated on the meeting of the European Parliament's Minority Intergroup. Due to the upcoming Ukrainian parliamentary elections, the guests initiated already at the end of the last year to add this topic to the agenda of an Intergroup meeting.

    Slovak - Hungarian dual citizenship controversy discussed in the European Parliament

    Olivér Boldoghy spoke to the Intergroup today about how he has had his Slovak citizenship taken away after he applied to have dual citizenship as a Hungarian. Officially he now finds himself designated as a foreigner in his own country with little in the way of rights and health cover.
