An exhibition of famous Hungarian artists and scientists from the 18th century to the present opened in the European Parliament in Brussels on Tuesday. The people presented in the exhibition - subtitled From the past of Trianon to the future of Schengen - are "forerunners to the current building of a unified Europe," Joseph Daul, head of the Christian-Democratic-Conservative group of the European People's Party, said at the opening ceremony. MEP Kinga Gal of Hungary's governing Fidesz party, who organised the exhibition, said that "there is a new, European dimension to handle the heritage of Trianon".
