Kinga GÁL MEP meets the South Tyrolean Youth Ring

In February 2011, MEP Herbert Dorfmann invited the South Tyrolean Youth Ring, the umbrella group of all South Tyrolean youth organisations, at the European Parliament for several meetings with different EU-politicians and members of the European Commission. The Youth Ring had the possibility to meet MEP Kinga Gal, chairwoman of the Intergroup Minorities, and MEP Doris Pack, chairwoman of the Cultural Committee, who shared their opinion about current minority issues in Europe.

Considering that South Tyrol is a German speaking minority in Italy, this discussion was particularly in the eye of the visitors' attention. Furthermore, the Youth Ring met experts in the field of culture and youth, amongst them the Austrian MEP Hella Ranner. The further discussions stressed the importance of young people's work, future EU programmes for youth and culture as well as possible sources of finance to realise them.
