    A hearing was organised yesterday afternoon in the European Parliament in the presence of Ms Hedviga Žáková-Malinová and her legal representative, Mr Branislav Jurga. The aim of the event hosted by MEP Edit Bauer was to raise awareness to the unlawful procedure that breaches the fundamental rights of an EU citizen.

    Kinga Gál and György Schöpflin MEPs addressed a question to the Commission regarding the ethnic incidents taking place in Vojvodina. In its answer the Commission confirmed that it monitors closely the inter-ethnic situation in Serbia and it will report on the situation in Vojvodina in the framework of its next Progress report on Serbia, due for October 2013.
